Not a Piglet, Just a Rhino

I went to the doctor today because this sore throat had me all wigged out and such, and I was relieved to have her confirm to me that I have neither a virus nor an infection. I do, however, have rhinohpoopiewhatsits, which is the medical term for a nasal allergy, the drippings of which are causing the throat irritation. And the only prescription is more cow bell. I mean, ibuprofen and Claritin.

Phew! Now that that's cleared up (all but my head, that is), I was all jazzed to blog tonight's dinner with the boyf at Tierra Sana, but the lighting was so poor that there's no photographic evidence, unfortunately. It was great, though, and the best deal going in health food restaurants! They have a "balanced entree" special every night, so for $6.95 I got a salad, lentil soup, quinoa and tastes of the two mains: green beans with tofu and roasted veggies with seitan. And I couldn't even finish it all!

Oh well. I made sure to have another Booch today, bringing the Multi Green with me to work. I figured the nastiest looking one must also be the healthiest, and while I do not know the health benefits of green algae in particular, I do know that there are 16 ounces of it floating in my system now and...well, I don't feel worse.

Lunch wasn't so pretty either, and even as I got it ready to go last night I was dubious of its deliciousness. However, I leave for vacation this weekend and I'll be darned if I'm gonna go to the store again before then. So it was a true leftover and odds/ends kind of mess: quinoa, carrots, tomatillo salsa, taco sauce, light jalapeno cheddar, avocado and two slices of Smart Bacon (the lamest of the facons, IMHO).

Gross? Maybe...but don't knock it til you've tried it. I was shocked at how tasty this particular mess was. Sometimes it's actually fun to just work with your own limitations and see what the creativity forces out of you.

Anyway, apologies for the non-aesthetic mobile post, but get used to it because there's going to be a whole lot of this next week when I'm on vacay!

Have you ever created something magically delicious when the cupboards were bare?

I walked by Tierra Sana around 8:30 and peaked in to do some stalking action but did not see you! I must make my boy have dinner with me there asap! It all looks so good!

Hopefully this works - your comment page looks different now so maybe it will!

So I really want to like Kombucha but I just don't! I've only tried the plain flavor though so I need to taste the others.

I once really wanted french toast and had no bread, so I used Eggo waffles and made it into waffle french toast, if that counts as creating something magically delicious!

Kombucha = obsessed. I don't understand why it tastes bad to people!

I'm beginning to think that those drinks are just a practical joke on us bloggers!
